Gov't ensures completion of 3-runway system project this year
The AAHK is taking the project forward at "full steam."
The Transport & Logistics Bureau assured the public that it will complete the three-runway system project for the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) according to schedule.
The bureau issued the statement in response to a report that the project has been delayed, which the government said was groundless allegation.
"It is the Airport Authority Hong Kong's (AAHK) clear target to complete all of the project's building and infrastructure works and put all three runways into operation within this year," the bureau said.
"The AAHK will open relevant passenger facilities progressively in the light of passenger traffic demand," the bureau added.
