The Wing First Class Lounge at HKIA reopens
Cathay Pacific Airways claims renovated lounge provides higher levels of comfort and service.
The extensive renovation of the airline’s First Class Lounge in The Wing at Hong Kong International Airport saw upgrades to The Haven and The Cabana.
The Haven, a popular dining area, was expanded to more than double its original capacity and features an expanded buffet counter that offers an extensive range of appetizers, Asian and Western dishes, and desserts. The à la carte menu has been reinvented and is complemented by recommended wine pairings.
Outside The Haven is a full-service bar, a newly created space where passengers can relax. Also new to The Wing is The Champagne Bar, where passengers will be greeted with a welcome drink upon arrival at the First Class Lounge.
The Cabana, one of the classic features of The Wing, was also refurbished. Each of the five Cabanas now features a shower, a full-sized bath and a day bed. There are also 12 luxury shower suites available for those who wish to freshen up before departure.
The Wing opened its doors in 1998. Cathay Pacific commissioned architectural firm Foster + Partners to redesign The Wing. Work on the complete renovation of the facility began in 2010.
