3-runway system urged to push through

It's aimed to open in 2023.

According to a release, Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung says the Airport Authority three-runway system and the North Commercial District should proceed without delay.

Speaking to the media after an Airport Authority meeting today, Prof Cheung said three-runway plan, aimed for a 2023 opening, is under a very tight timetable.

He said the work will include the Environmental Impact Assessment.

He added the Government wants to maximise the development potential of the commercial district.
