Cathay Pacific to avoid designated airspace zones in Taiwan: report
This comes at the back of China’s recent live-fire military drills.
Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific is currently rerouting all its flights to avoid flying through the designated airspace near Taiwan amidst China’s military live-fire military drills.
In a report by Reuters, Cathay asked customers for their understanding as the rerouting of flights will potentially lead to more flying time. It also told Reuters that it is currently monitory developments closely.

Some airlines have also followed suit, cancelling flights to Taipei and rerouting others.
China recently deployed scores of planes and fired live missiles near Taiwan on Thursday as part of its military drills a day after U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan.
