Cathay Pacific intensifying Hong Kong-Chicago service
Will start on August, 2014.
The three new Cathay Pacific Airways flights are in addition to the daily nonstop flight Cathay Pacific between the two cities. The three additional direct flights will operate from Chicago on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday of each week.
In addition to expanded Chicago departures, Cathay Pacific will add a fourth daily flight from Los Angeles to Hong Kong starting June 2, 2014.
The added Chicago service will be flown on a Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft outfitted with business, premium economy and economy cabins.
Cathay Pacific also has nonstop service to Hong Kong from San Francisco and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. It also said it would launch service for Newark Liberty Airport in Newark, N.J., to Hong Kong starting March 1, 2014.
Cathay Pacific senior vice president, Americas Tom Owen said rising customer demand is the essential reason why Cathay Pacific is increasing flight frequencies from two of its United States gateways.
