Cathay Pacific to order more of newest Airbus widebody
Cathay Pacific Airways will soon add 48 of the new Airbus A350 family of widebody jets to its expanding fleet.
The Hong Kong flag carrier intends to order 10 more A350-1000 in addition to its existing order for 36 A350-900 aircraft. The 10 new aircraft are worth a combined US$3.2 billion.
It will also convert 16 of the 36 existing orders it already made for the A350-900 to the bigger 1000 jet, and bring the total number of A350 XWB aircraft it ordered to 48.
The A350-1000 is the largest variant of the A350 family and will seat 350 passengers. It will have range of 15,600 km and is designed to replace the Airbus A340-600.
