Fuel surcharges fly

Levies are now up to $236 and $1,124 for short- and long-haul flights.

The fuel surcharge increases of 6% and 9% respectively approved by the Civil Aviation Department are for flights by All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines for the month of June.

According to Hong Kong’s Information Services Department, this allows airlines to partially recover the increase in operational costs due to fluctuations in aviation fuel prices.
