HKIA passenger traffic up 6% to 5.82m in February amidst CNY break
Travellers from the Mainland and Japan took advantage of the long vacation.
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) passenger volume rose 6% YoY to 5.82m passengers in February as travellers took advantage of the long Chinese New Year break particularly passengers to and from Mainland China and Japan.
According to a press release, other traffic categories like flight movements also rose 3.5% MoM to 32,320 whilst cargo throughput increased 7% YoY to 315,000 tonnes thanks to strong export growth.

Transshipments also recorded growth of 7%. Amongst the key trading regions, cargo throughput to and from Europe and North America showed the most significant increases.
