Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) passenger numbers and flight movements reached new post-pandemic heights in December.
Last month, passenger numbers increased 1.7 times YoY to 4.3 million, whilst flight movements rose 89% YoY to 30,000, exceeding 80% of the pre-pandemic level.

By the end of 2024, HKIA expects passenger traffic to fully recover to the pre-pandemic level.

In December alone, cargo throughput increased by 19.3% YoY to 418,000 tonnes.
