Hong Kong Airlines achieved swift recovery in 2023, surpassing its initial forecast of full recovery by mid-2024.
The airlines carried out more than 8x the number of flight sectors and 38x the number of passengers in 9M23 compared to 9M22.
In 2023, Hong Kong Airlines increased the number of destinations in Japan to nine. In Mainland China, flights to eight cities, totalling 10 destinations, were resumed this year.
The airline also added Phuket to the regional route network and resumed flights to Bali.
The recovery of tourism and the yen exchange rate led to the airline's good performance in the Japanese market, with over 90% of passenger load factors during peak season recorded.
