Hong Kong airport named world's best for fifth consecutive year
Hong Kong International Airport also came third in both the Asia-Pacific region and overall categories.
According to Hong Kong Information Services Department, Airports Council International has named Hong Kong International Airport the world's best among airports serving more than 40 million passengers annually, for the fifth consecutive year.
"The honour belongs to our strong airport community with over 60,000 staff members. Without their concerted efforts and wholehearted dedication, we could not have made this outstanding achievement," Mr Hui said.
Passengers from 140 airports participating in the full-year survey were interviewed over a series of parameters, including general ambience, cleanliness, check-in efficiency, staff courtesy, comfortable waiting area and more. Hong Kong’s airport achieved a record high of 4.78 out of 5.00, meaning 99% of survey respondents rated the airport as excellent or very good in the 2010 Airport Service Quality survey. Key areas particularly commended by passengers were availability and cleanliness of washrooms, level of comfort of waiting areas, ambience, safety and customs inspection.
