Malaysia Airlines to fly Airbus A380 to Hong Kong
Daily service on the Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong route will begin May 1.
Malaysia Airlines said the 494-seat super jumbo A380 will replace one of the current B737-800 double daily services on this route. Flight MH72 from Kuala Lumpur will depart at 9.15am and arrive in Hong Kong at 1.05pm, while MH73 from Hong Kong leaves at 2.45pm and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 6.25pm.
Hong Kong will be the carrier’s third A380 destination after London and Paris. The A380 Economy Class has a total of 420 seats: 350 seats are on the main deck and 70 on the upper deck.
The forward recline seats come equipped with individual PED power supply, a USB port and a 10.6 inch in-flight entertainment touch screen.
With the A380, Malaysia Airlines will also introduce First Class travel on this route. The A380 has eight First Class seats on the main deck, which convert into a full flat bed of 87 inches in length and with a width of 40 inches, making it the widest seats amongst other airlines.
Each seat boasts an individual 23-inch in-flight entertainment screen with personal closet and stowage for coat, luggage, laptop and personal belongings.
