Cathay appoints three new senior execs
The appointments will be effective starting 1 August.
Cathay Pacific has appointed Lavinia Lau and two others to three senior leadership roles, effective 1 August.
Lau will be serving as the company’s new director leading the Customer Travel business line. She will be accountable for customer travel experience design and passenger commercial functions.
Prior to this, Lau sat as the Director Commercial for the past two years, in charge of passenger functions of revenue management and sales and distribution, together with planning for both the passenger and freighter fleets.
She has been with Cathay Pacific since 1999 and has held various senior management positions within the commercial functions over the year.
Moreover, Paul Smitton and Lawrence Fong will assume the roles of Director Customer Lifestyle and Director Digital and IT, respectively.
Smitton will lead the newly created customer lifestyle business line and will be accountable for turning Cathay into a premium lifestyle brand.
He joined the Cathay Pacific Group as Asia Miles CEO in 2018 before working as the general manager for customer relationship and retail in 2020.
Fong, meanwhile, will continue leading the company’s IT and digital functions. He will be collaborating with all departments across the company towards becoming a digital leader.
Prior to this role, Fong was the group general manager for digital and information technology. He joined Cathay Pacific in 1990 and has served multiple roles in IT and e-Business.
