Trakitall Ltd nails win at the HKB National Business Awards 2020

Its C9T bracelet features temperature monitoring and social distancing sensors to help combat COVID-19.

‎Trakitall Ltd has bagged the Health Products & Services category at the HKB National Business Awards 2020, presented by Hong Kong Business magazine with this pioneering tracking bracelet.

As the world steadily adjusts to the new normal, industries have to find new ways to keep their employees safe from the pandemic. This is why Hong Kong-based tech company Trakitall has developed the C9T bracelet—an advanced tracking device that keeps users safe through social distancing and temperature monitoring.

The C9T bracelet is the first device of its kind, using an innovative software solution to combat the spread of COVID-19. The C9T bracelet can be used in two ways—either in the basic stand-alone mode or in the advanced system mode.

The basic stand-alone mode is the standard factory setting which is intended for simple use as a warning device for individual users. Under this mode, when users breach the social distance limit of 1.5 metres, the bracelet will vibrate and flash red to remind users to maintain social distancing protocols.

The bracelet also features a different alert when the user’s body temperature is higher than normal. It also alerts the user when someone within a three-metre radius has a body temperature higher than 37.8°C. The bracelet can be used even without an app in the basic stand-alone mode.

The advanced system mode allows full traceability of users’ movements and interactions with others, and provides a complete record of a user’s contacts, areas accessed, and any breaches of social distancing protocols. In this mode, each C9T bracelet is registered to a particular user. A user’s details are then linked to the C9T application and transmitted to the C9T network database server. The C9T database, in turn, can be accessed by authorised administrators.

When distancing protocols are violated under the advanced system mode, users will also receive an alert message on their mobile phones in addition to the bracelet’s built-in warning system. The violation will also be transmitted and recorded on the C9T network database for proper contact tracing.

Meanwhile, when the temperature of a team member is over 37.8°C, the data will be logged in the C9T database and administrators will be notified. Other users in the vicinity will also be alerted advising they are in close vicinity of a person that has a high temperature.

In the event a fever is detected, the user will undergo testing for the virus. In case of infection, they will then be referred for self-isolation or medical attention. The administrator can then trace and notify the user’s contacts through the C9T server database.

The advanced system mode requires the use of the C9T app, which features an intuitive user interface. The network database can be accessed by up to 4 top administrators and 16 team administrators simultaneously, and each team administrator can manage up to one million users simultaneously. The C9T bracelet has a data capacity of 256 kb, allowing it to store up to 40,000 records. It is waterproof and has a battery duration of 18-24 hours.

The Hong Kong Business Awards 2020, presented by Hong Kong Business magazine, was held via video conferencing in September.
