Vastcom Technology Limited secures Hospitality & Leisure trophy at HKB TEA 2020

The firm was lauded for assisting its client through Automation Anywhere.

Vastcom Technology Limited has received the Automation - Hospitality & Leisure trophy at the recently concluded HKB Technology Excellence Awards, presented by Hong Kong Business magazine.

Now in its second year, the awards event honours enterprises that take risks and lead the charge in developing groundbreaking projects, digital services, reimagined strategies, and technological initiatives. Winners were judged on the basis of uniqueness and innovation, effectiveness and impact, and dynamism.

With COVID-19 pandemic and global economic uncertainty, Macau enterprises started to look for solutions to streamline business processes, achieve profitability, and maintain a competitive advantage.

In particular, one of the luxury casino resorts in Macau is looking for process automation solutions that will improve productivity, reduce cost, and mimic human interaction with core systems, web, as well as desktop applications to execute processes.

However, the security and sensitivity data contained in the finance report generation process are not allowing staff remotely access to their core systems in the office, as all staff needed to work remotely between March and May.

After an extensive review process, they decided it would be necessary to implement a process automation solution. They knew they could not make the purchase decision without being able to technically evaluate the software and prove a return on investment to the business.

After a series of workshops to understand about their business process, Vastcom’s consultant identified that their finance report is a routine job with extra data from the ERP system and doing manual data consolidation by humans.

Robotic process automation is an effective cost and time enabler, complementing the “new normal” business environment and digital transformation journey. In order to achieve the new business goal, the company’s information technology team determined that the organisation required adjustments to their current manual process.

After comprehensive market research, doing different time proof of concept with clients in different departments such as IT, finance, and procurement, the company selected Automation Anywhere, a leading company in providing robotic process automation solution that matches with the client’s evaluation criteria

The client tasked Vastcom Technology Limited to do the product discovery and evaluation based on cost savings, audit trailable, reliability, as well as ease of implementation.

The HKB Technology Excellence Awards, presented by Hong Kong Business, was held via video conferencing throughout the month of September.
