81 guesthouses at Chungking Mansions inspected

51 had minor irregularities.

According to a report, Police and Home Affairs Department officers raided Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui today to ensure licensed guesthouses were complying with safety requirements, and to check for unlicensed premises.

They inspected 81 guesthouses, of which 51 were found to have minor irregularities. Twenty-three premises rectified the problems immediately.

Officers also collected evidence of unlicensed operations in premises and will prosecute if illegal activities are proven
