Co-working space theDesk opens urban farm at Sheung Wan
A subscription goes for $4,000 every four months.
theDesk launch of one of the largest urban farms amongst co-working spaces in Hong Kong at its newly opened location theDesk Strand 50, an announcement revealed.
Available to individuals, corporates and restaurants, the urban farm will initially offer 30 plantersd. Subscriptions for each planter are at $4,000 every four months or at $12,000 per year, and comes with services such as one-on-one workshops with urban farming experts on Saturdays. Members can also gainaccess to farming resources and theDesk’s community events.
The project is part of theDesk’s Co-work 2.0 concept, theDesk’s CEO and co-founder Thomas Hui shared.
The coworking operator has partnered with Rooftop Republic Urban Farming to convert 1,600 sqft of outdoor space at theDesk’s Sheung Wan location into an urban farm. Rooftop Republic Urban Farming has set up more than 50 urban farm projects in Hong Kong and China.
A study by wellness group AIA Vitality has shown that in 2018, 78.5 productive days were lost in Hong Kong due to sick leave, with work-related stress and unhealthy diet as top reasons. theDesk Strand 50 said that they build the urban farm in the hopes that it can be an oasis for relaxation and boosting productivity amongst its users.
