DSD cases drop 17% MoM in March to 3,706

It's a four-month low.

The Inland Revenues Bureau has said that there were 3,706 cases of property transaction that involved Double Stamp Duties (DSD), which was -17% m/m.

According to a research note from Barclays, the figure is a four-month low and involves tax payments of HK$1.6bn.

However, both the number of SSD (Special Stamp Duties) and BSD (Buyers’ Stamp Duties) have gone up.

The number of SSD cases went up by 13% m/m to 63 in March while that of BSD by 54% to 245 cases.

The three stamp duties altogether contributed HK$2.24bn revenue to the government.
