LF Logistics bags Technology Excellence Award for e-Commerce – Logistics
A true testament to its speed, the company handled 8 million orders and 11.32 million units during China’s “Single’s Day” in 2018.
The Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards (TEA) recognise the achievements of companies that have applied technological innovation to their operations. The well-crafted and implemented strategies, products, and projects of such companies are instrumental to economic growth and can serve as models for other enterprises to emulate. In this inaugural edition of TEA, logistics takes a central role represented by a household name, LF Logistics (Hong Kong) Limited.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, LF Logistics is a leading logistics provider offering both in-country logistics services across Asia and freight management services globally. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Li & Fung, the world’s leading supply chain solutions partner for brands and retailers, LF Logistics is the supply chain partner of choice for companies in several verticals including Footwear and Apparel, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, Food and Beverage, Retail, Electronics and Healthcare.
LF Logistics received the award for its “Speed, Innovation, and Digitalisation” project. The company demonstrated speed by handling 8 million orders and 11.32 million units during China’s “Single’s Day” in 2018. Speed is further enabled by the company’s new e-Commerce Distribution Centres in Mumbai and New Delhi, India. Innovation is reflected in the use of a field operations control tower as well as advanced technologies such as drones, one-glance dashboards, voice picking and vision picking. Digitalisation is exemplified by customised equipment and an online catalogue shopping system for POSM and zero-value inventory. LF Logistics’ digital platform allows end-to-end visibility for customers and data gathering to drive insights.
The firm’s excellence lies in its use of heuristic models and analytics tools that respond promptly to clients’ needs. Developing disaster recovery plans and maintaining business continuity are core elements of LF Logistics’ ability to deal with risks. Customers’ supply chain processes are efficient and transparent, thanks to state-of-the-art IT systems. The strength of LF Logistics is built on a scalable infrastructure that includes 3 global data centres; 14,000 IPT phones; and 22,000 computers. Furthermore, the company implements lean practices in Asian markets including Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Through this strategy, LF Logistics can identify inefficiencies, develop and implement solutions, demonstrate positive results, and share best practices. This effective tool improves collaborative potential whilst enabling the enterprise to control costs and continually remain productive.
Another essential asset is its highly skilled staff with a quality orientation. At LF Logistics, excellent service is combined with intelligent shipping so that freight forwarding is always reliable and cost-efficient. Its global team’s competencies include order management, transportation management, inventory management, supply chain network design, and milestone tracking, amongst many other areas.
Trusted by over 400 firms worldwide, LF Logistics delivers 100 million units of consumer products every day and manages 26 million square feet of space. By prioritising efficiency and safe, sustainable practices, this logistics giant assures that products will be transported seamlessly from factories to warehouses to stores.
