
19 building plans get go-ahead
Six are located on Hong Kong island.
According to a report, the Buildings Department approved 19 building plans in August – six on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon, and 11 in the New Territories.
Five were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, 12 were for commercial developments, and two were for community-services developments.
Consent was given for work to start on nine building projects that, when completed, will provide 5,986 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 26 units, and 32,743 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
The department also received notification of the start of work on eight building projects.
It issued 13 occupation permits, with two on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon, and four in the New Territories. Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 28,980 square metres, involving 171 units, and 181,645 square metres for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in August totalled $2.7 billion. In addition, consent for demolition of six building structures was issued.
The department received 3,577 reports about unauthorised building works in August, and issued 1,098 removal orders.
