App for easier compliance of Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme launched

Through the app, owners can find qualified persons to conduct window inspections.

An app that can help property owners to comply with the Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme has been launched by the Buildings Department.

Through the app called WIN SAFE, users can search for and appoint Qualified Persons (QP) to inspect their windows. Property owners can search based on their district and the QP’s popularity. They can likewise check the estimated costs for window inspections through the app.

Under the  Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme, buildings aged 10 years or above and served with statutory notices are required to appoint a QP to carry out an inspection and supervise the prescribed repair works found necessary on all windows of the building.

The scheme excludes domestic buildings not exceeding three storeys.
