
Headline inflation inched up to 4.6% in February
Blame it on CNY blues.
Barclays has noted that if one were to connect the dots from recent key news, an interest picture starts to emerge.
According to a research note from Barclays, underlying inflation was 2.6% in Jan-Feb 2015 vs. 3.1% in Dec 2014 -

According to the Census and Statistics Department, headline inflation for February 2015 was 4.6%, compared to 4.1% for January. After netting out the effects of the government’s one-off relief measures, underlying inflation in February is 2.8%, compared to 2.3% in January.
As the Chinese New Year holiday fell in February this year but January last year, headline inflation for January-February 2015 was 4.3%, compared to 4.9% in December 2014. The underlying inflation for January-February 2015 was 2.6%, compared to 3.1% in December 2014.
