Hong Kong’s Hang Lung names Adriel Chan as new chair of both companies
His father Ronnie Chan is retiring and has been named “honorary chair”.
Hang Lung Group and Hang Lung Properties have appointed Adriel Chan as chair of both companies effective 26 April 2024.
Ronnie Chan, currently the chair of both companies, will retire. He will also retire from his role as executive director and chair the executive committees of the group and will not be taking up the role of non-executive director on the boards after his retirement.
Hang Lung Group and Hang Lung Properties are bestowing the title “honorary chair” to Ronnie Chan following his retirement.
Adriel Chan, the son of Ronnie Chan, joined the company in 2010. He became executive director of the boards in 2016, and the vice chair in September 2020.
Ronnie Chan expressed confidence in his successor’s appointment.
“I have full confidence in Adriel, who will inject new wave of energy into the legacy that my father, Mr. Chan Tseng-hsi, Founder of Hang Lung, and I have built, and I am sure that he will take the companies to new heights,” he said.
