PwC resigns as China Evergrande Group auditor due to disagreements
The resigned auditor did not receive significant matters in the financial statements.
Real estate firm, China Evergrande Group, revealed that its auditor, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), has quit from their post following disagreements on timetable and auditing of financial statements for 2021.
The resignation was effective 16 January 2023, the real estate company said.
According to the group, it had issues on timetable and scope of work in China Evergrande Group’s debt restructuring and auditing of their financial statements for 2021.
In its resignation letter shared by China Evergrande Group, PwC did not get any information linked to the audit of the real estate firm’s 2021 consolidated financial statements, including information on independent investigations, assessments of specific repayment plans, and results of internal control assessments.
