Hong Kong inks deal with Belt and Road partners Israel and New Zealand

The two countries now enjoy mutual customs clearance benefits with Hong Kong.

Hong Kong strengthened its economic and trade cooperation between Belt and Road Initiative partners, Israel and New Zealand, by signing an Authorized Economic Cooperator Mutual Recognition Arrangement Action Plans with the two signatory economies last December 14 at Brussels, Belgium.

Under the agreement, Israel and New Zealand are entitled to mutual customs clearance benefits with Hong Kong.

According to a press release, Hong Kong was represented by Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Excise (Excise and Strategic Support) Mr Jimmy Tan whilst Israel and New Zealand were represented by the Head of the Israel Customs Directorate, Israel Tax Authority, Mr Avraham Ben Ardete and Group Manager of Policy, Legal and Governance of the New Zealand Customs Service Mr Michael Papesch.
