Youth festival looks at Hong Kong’s economy
Also explores Asian future development.
The 2013 Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong) began yesterday with more than 1,000 participants exchanging ideas on Asian economic trends, education and culture.
This year's forum carries the theme "Creative Youth, Innovative Asia: joining Hands for a Better Future." It will explore economic trends in Hong Kong and Asia, and the booming culture of Asia societies.
"With the world recently placing increasing emphasis on creative industries, the Asian economy should leverage on innovation to drive economic development," said Clarence Leung, consultant of the forum.
Organizers said the forum it is a good opportunity for Hong Kong's youths to gain insights on Asia's future economic driving force and immense potentials of creativity, based on wisdom imparted by the speakers.
Jointly organized by Boao Forum for Asia and the Youth Elites Association, BOAO Youth Forum has been held in Hong Kong since 2009.
The forum is designed for brainstorming and clashing of ideas on issues regarding social development, economy, culture, education, environment and technology and innovation.
