
Foreign currency reserves rocket to US$350m
It's a ballooning count.
According to a release, Hong Kong’s official foreign currency reserve assets amounted to US$305.2 billion at the end of November, up US$350 million on the end of October, the Monetary Authority announced.
Including unsettled forward contracts, foreign currency reserve assets at the end of November stood at US$306.8 billion, compared to US$302.4 billion on the end of October.
The figure represents over eight times the currency in circulation or about 54% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
