HKTSP partners with MGI to build life science innovation platform in Hong Kong
MGI has also partnered with six scientific research institutions and enterprises in Science Park.
The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) signed a strategic partnership agreement with MGI Tech Co. (MGI) to jointly build a world-class life science innovation platform in Hong Kong, to develop a global innovation ecosystem.
Under the agreement, MGI and HKSTP will jointly build a world-leading laboratory for advanced life science to provide researchers with state-of-the-art equipment, including gene DNBSEQ sequencing, CycloneSeq sequencing, and single-cell and spatial transcriptomics analysis.
The partners will also organise international conferences and seminars for start-ups to connect with international experts and investors and develop high-skilled talents to enhance public health.
MGI also announced cooperations with six scientific research institutions and enterprises in Science Park, including InnoHK’s Hong Kong Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases; InnoHK’s Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Health, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Generation, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Quantum Life; Asia Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory Limited; Codex Genetics, and GemVCare.
MGI will provide these strategic partners with advanced life science tools to accelerate research in neurodegenerative diseases, regenerative medicine, quantum technology, artificial intelligence, molecular diagnostics, precision medicine, genomics, and diabetes.
In addition, MGI launched its latest product, “αLab Studio,” a laboratory management platform that integrates artificial intelligence technology and automation to reduce the time for designing experiments and simplify the research process.
