
Hong Kong's re-exports dipped 1.3% in January
Domestic exports also dropped 2.7%.
The volume of Hong Kong's goods re-exports decreased 1.3% year-on-year in January, while that of domestic exports dropped 2.7%, the Census & Statistics Department announced.
Taken together, the volume of total goods exports decreased 1.3%, while the volume of goods imports dropped 3.7%.
Goods re-exports' prices rose 1.7% year-on-year, while those of domestic exports dipped 0.5%. Taken together, the prices of total goods exports increased 1.7%. Concurrently, goods imports' prices rose 2%.
Comparing the three-month period ending January with the preceding three months on a seasonally-adjusted basis, total goods exports' volume increased 5.4%. Within this total, the volume of re-exports rose 5.4%, while that of domestic exports rose 6.6%. Concurrently, goods imports' volume increased 4.5%.
