InvestHK's business environment report sets record straight vs biased news: Phillips
Biased media reports yielded to international investors' misconceptions, he said.
Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) announced a series of promotions building upon the Report on Hong Kong's Business Environment: A Place with Unique Advantages and Unlimited Opportunities from the Hong Kong Government on 29 September.
According to Director-General of Investment Promotion Stephen Phillips, "The report sets out very clearly the exciting opportunities for businesses from around the world in Hong Kong and at the same time sets the record straight about international investors' misconceptions of Hong Kong as a result of persistent biased media reports in some quarters." This was relayed by Financial Secretary Paul Chan on 27 September 27.
"The report not only outlines the robust strengths of Hong Kong as an international financial, aviation, innovation and technology, legal and cultural hub. It also highlights the many attractive opportunities the city has to offer multinationals and entrepreneurs who want a reliable, efficient business base in Asia," added Phillips.
InvestHK will hold a series of global webinars on 7 October for business communities worldwide. It aims to discuss Hong Kong's latest business environment and announcements relevant to business in next week's policy address.
