No more shark fin dishes at official Hong Kong government banquets
It’s a win for conservation groups.
The government announced last week it would stop serving shark fin at official functions as a good example. It also banned the serving of bluefin tuna. Both bans were prompted by what the government described as "conservation concerns".
A government spokesman said the exclusion of these items from official menus is a start and also serves as an example of raising public education and awareness on sustainability.
