Positive growth projected in 2017 for Asia export values
Even if prices stabilise from now.
It has been noted that Asia’s export values look set to return to positive growth in 2017, even if prices stabilise from now.
According to a research note from Standard Chartered, further, Asia’s export volume growth was more resilient than value growth in a weak global trade environment. It also expects double-digit export value growth in 2017 if commodity prices rebound.
The report also said commodity exporters should outperform when prices recover. Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia would benefit the most from a commodity price rebound.
