SME’s business outlook softens in May
The tighter financial conditions will affect business sentiment in the near future.
The business sentiments of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Hong Kong softened slightly in May, according to a government spokesperson, based on the results of a monthly survey on SMEs business situation conducted by the Census & Statistics Department.
The 600 SMEs surveyed by C&SD are establishments with fewer than 50 persons engaged.
Overall employment situation remained broadly stable during the month.
The spokesperson expects slower growth in advanced economies and tight financial conditions to continue affecting business sentiment in the future.
The local economic recovery and the various measures introduced by the government in boosting the recovery momentum should provide support, the spokesperson added.
