SMEs to receive half-price concession measures
It applies to new R&Ds, consultancy projects, and testing services.
Small-medium enterprises (SMEs) in Hong Kong will receive a series of special relief measures of half-price concessions to overcome financial woes that occurred during the COVID-19 surge triggered by the Omicron variant, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) said.
The council said in a statement that the special offer will apply to all new research and development (R&D) and consultancy projects, testing services, as well as HKPC venue charges from 1 March 2022 to 30 September 2022.
The concession measures are as follows:
- 50% concession to the list price of labour portion for R&D and consultancy services (except for consultancy services under government funding schemes);
- 50% concession to the list price of labour portion for testing services;
- 50% concession to the HKPC venue charges.
Also, HKPC Executive Director Mohamed Butt said they will continue to offer comprehensive technical support, fund matching and R&D talent training for enterprises to raise their competitiveness and prepare them for the digital era and global economic recovery.
