Unemployment rate steady at 3%
The underemployment rate also remained unchanged at 1.2%.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained steady at 3% between June and August, unchanged from the May to July period, the Census & Statistics Department announced.

Total employment during this period was 3,708,500, similar to the previous period, whilst the labour force grew by approximately 4,400 to 3,830,800.
The number of unemployed individuals increased by around 4,500 to 122,300, whilst the underemployed population stood at 47,500.
Labour and Welfare Secretary Chris Sun noted that the overall labour market is expected to stay tight in the near term amidst economic growth. However, he acknowledged that some sectors may face pressure as businesses continue to face challenges.
