
Volume of domestic exports tumbled 9.4% in December
But goods exports edged up.
According to a release, Hong Kong's total volume of goods exports increased 2.8% year-on-year in 2013, while that of goods imports grew 3.9%.
The Census & Statistics Department said the volume of goods re-exports rose 3% and that of domestic exports fell 9.4%.
The prices of goods re-exports increased 1.3% in the year, while those of domestic exports rose 2.2%. Taken together, the prices of total goods exports grew 1.3%. Concurrently, the prices of goods imports increased 0.9%.
Last December, the volume of total goods exports decreased 1.3% year-on-year, while the volume of goods imports rose 1.4%.
The volume of goods re-exports decreased 1.2% and that of domestic exports fell 8.2%.
The prices of goods re-exports rose 2% year-on-year in the month, while those of domestic exports grew 0.5%. Taken together, the prices of total goods exports increased 2%. Concurrently, the prices of goods imports rose 1.1%.
