Everbright International completes rooftop thin film photovoltaic construction
The Project is part of the group’s development of alternative energy business which includes the solar and wind power.
China Everbright International Limited (“Everbright International”) is pleased to announce that the inauguration of The Everbright-DuPont Apollo Photovoltaic Energy Golden Sun Demonstration Project (the “Golden Sun Project”) developed in collaboration with DuPont Apollo (Shenzhen) Limited took place at DuPont Apollo Hi-Tech Industrial Park in Shenzhen on Monday, according to a Everbright International report.
The Golden Sun Project uses Dupont Apollo’s high performance DuPont Apollo amorphous silicon (a-Si) thin film photovoltaic modules. With a total output capacity of 1.3MW, 1.48 million kWh of green electricity can be annually generated after the operation starts, equivalent to saving 542 tonnes of standard coal, thus reducing carbon dioxide emission by 1,480 tonnes. The facility does not occupy scarce land resources and emit any waste during operation, so it will not pollute the environment, while bringing significant benefits to the economy and society.
Mr Chen Xiaoping, Chief Executive Officer of Everbright International, said, “The Everbright-DuPont Apollo Photovoltaic Energy Golden Sun Demonstration Project is the first power generation project among the national Golden Sun Pilot Program that has been completed and is in operation. It is considered as the largest single structure thin film photovoltaic rooftop installation in China, boasting the largest power generation capacity in the country. The Group has relentlessly developed its business and expanded into the solar and wind power businesses in recent years. The completion and operation of this Project not only marks a new milestone in the development of its alternative energy business, but also produces a signature green facility in Shenzhen.”
