GCL-Poly to quadruple polysilicon production capacity
Upon completion of a technique update, GCL Poly's polysilicon capacity will be raised by 25,000 tons to 65,000 tons by summer 2012.
Wafer production facilities will have a capacity of 6,500 megawatts by the end of this year.
Respective production capacities of polysilicon and wafers were 21,000 tons and 3,500 megawatts in the end of 2010. The technique update requires an investment of approximate 17.7 billion Hong Kong dollars, paid for in cash and loans.
The Hong Kong-listed company intends to raise production capacities of factories in Xuzhou, Wuxi, Suzhou and Changzhou and build a wafer factory closer to Chinese clients.
