Gov’t to use North Lantau HKICC site for AsiaWorld-Expo expansion
Medical equipment, furniture, and consumables will be transferred to public hospitals.
The government will repurpose the North Lantau Hospital Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre (HKICC) site for the Airport Authority Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) expansion.
Medical equipment and furniture from the HKICC will be redistributed to public hospitals, whilst the electrical and mechanical equipment will be reused by local healthcare facilities in phases.
Modular isolation ward units will be repurposed as site offices, restrooms, and storage rooms for government and public projects.
Medical equipment, furniture, and consumables from the HKICC will be transferred soon. Electrical and mechanical equipment, along with modular isolation units, will be relocated for reuse in the AWE Phase 2 construction, starting in early 2025.
