Hong Kong has first biogas-powered micro-turbine generator

Reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

The biogas micro-turbine generator has been installed at the Yuen Long Sewage Treatment Works. It can generate 108,000 kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the annual consumption by 12 four-member families.

It will have an annual electricity cost savings of $100,000 and will prevent over 83 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
