The cities also plan to promote multi-destination tourism in the Greater Bay Area.
Chief Executive John Lee and Macau Chief Executive Ho Iat-seng discussed tourism cooperation and promotion of multi-destination tourism in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) during the former’s visit to the Las Vegas of Asia.
In his meeting with Ho, Lee said that “now is the perfect time” for HK and Macau to strengthen their tourism ties given the full resumption of normal travel between the two cities.
According to Lee, Hong Kong and Macau can jointly contribute to achieving the goal of developing a world-class bay area for leisure.
“Being special administrative regions of the country, both Hong Kong and Macau will leverage on their unique advantages under ‘one country, two systems’ and further strengthen the co-operation between the two places, with a view to generating stronger impetus for the high-quality development of the GBA and making greater contributions to national development,” Lee said.
