HK sets guidelines for travel incentive scheme
Agencies can receive up to $400 in incentives under the scheme.
The Travel Industry Council (TIC) of Hong Kong has established guidelines for licenced travel agencies participating in the characteristic local tourism incentive scheme.
The scheme’s guidelines include designated attractions in itineraries under the in-depth travel category, whilst a comprehensive review of an itinerary’s entire design is required before grant of cash incentives under the thematic travel category.
Agencies can receive incentives of $200 under in-depth travel and $400 under the thematic travel category, whilst incentives in each category are capped at 100 local and 100 inbound participants.
Participating travel agencies must register their itineraries with the TIC in advance before applying incentives after a tour takes place.
Successful applicants will receive payment after two to two and a half months after completing documentation.
