Thailand extends visa-free period for Hong Kong passport holders
It is expected to strengthen tourism, cultural, and economic ties between Hong Kong and Thailand.
Thailand has extended the visa-free entry period for Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passport holders from 30 days to 60 days, the Immigration Department announced.
The extension highlights the close relationship between Thailand and Hong Kong, particularly in the context of the Belt & Road Initiative and Thailand’s membership in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The department said that the extension will enhance travel convenience for Hong Kong SAR passport holders and strengthen tourism, cultural, and economic ties between Hong Kong and Thailand.
Hong Kong SAR passport holders enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 172 countries and territories as of today.
