Visitor arrivals increase by 52.2% in July
This is equivalent to 25 million visitors.
The total number of Hong Kong visitors increased by 52.2% to 25 million in July from 16.5 million in the same period in 2023, according to Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) Research.
Visitors from Mainland China increased by 47.3% to 19.3 million, whilst non-mainland visitors totaled to 5.8 million.
Meanwhile, the total number of visitors from Macau SAR declined by 3.5% to 658,334 in July from 682,427 visitors in 2023.
For short-haul markets, excluding Mainland China and Macau SAR, Taiwan had the highest number of travellers to Hong Kong, with 692,467 visitors.
The USA had the highest number in long-haul markets with 505,490 travellers, whilst India emerged as the new market with 205,108 travellers to Hong Kong.
The total overnight visitor arrivals was up by 49.1% to 12.5 million, whilst total same-day visitor arrivals increased by 55.4% to 12.5 million.
