Esprit clarifies news reports

It has not received any request from Mr Michael Ying Lee Yuen to join the Board.

Esprit Holdings Limited issued this statement:

This announcement is made at the request of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

The board of directors of Esprit Holdings Limited has noted the increase in the price and trading volume of the shares of the Company today (15 November 2012) and wishes to state that the Board is not aware of any reason for such increases, although the Board has noted from the disclosure of interest filings dated 12 November 2012 and published on the website of the Stock Exchange that Mr Michael Ying Lee Yuen has increased his interest in the Company's shares.

The Board would like to confirm that it has not received any request from Mr Ying to join the Board and if he were to make such a request, it will be subject to discussion and consideration by the Board.

The Board also confirms that there are no negotiations or agreements relating to intended acquisitions or realisations which are discloseable under Rule 13.23 of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on the Stock Exchange, neither is the Board aware of any matter discloseable under the general obligation imposed by Rule 13.09 of the Listing Rules, which is or may be of a price-sensitive nature.
