HKEX mulls establishment of New York office
The office is expected to open as early as 2022.
The Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing (HKEX) is reportedly mulling to open an office in New York.
Bloomberg said the bourse is planning to open the office as early as 2022 once it acquires regulatory licenses to operate.
The New York base will be manned by only five staff members, the report added.
Bloomberg’s sources said they do not expect any “political opposition” from the bourse’s office installation in the United States.
“The exchange has had plans to open new marketing and client coverage hubs in North America and Europe to expand its international footprint and customer engagement, improve client coverage and promote the Hong Kong markets,” the report said.
