A total of three EFTs listed on the bourse.
The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has welcomed the listing of the first Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) to track the MSCI China A 50 Connect Index.
The three new MSCI China A 50 Connect Index ETFs listed on the bourse on 13 December and 14 December will be available in HKD, USD, and RMB counters.
HKEX Co-Head of Markets Wilfred Yiu said the EFTs “will join the increasingly diversified Connect product ecosystem in Hong Kong, enriching the choice for investors around the world, and providing another investment option for those seeking exposure to China assets.”
The bourse said the average turnover of EFTs in Hong Kong for the first 11 months of 2021 was $7.8b, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2020.
Meanwhile, as of end-November, assets under management of China-focused ETFs already accounts for 25% of the Hong Kong ETF market.
