
HK, Vietnam ink immigration pact
Under the pact, the parties will cooperate on the verification and repatriation of illegal migrants.
Hong Kong and Vietnam have agreed to enhance cooperation on immigration matters linking the two places.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two parties, Hong Kong and Vietnam will exchange experience and information on detecting and seizing fake travel documents, as well as preventing and combating illegal entry and exit.
The two places will also strengthen cooperation on verification and repatriation of illegal migrants to enhance efficiency.
Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung who witnessed the signing of the MoU said the pact signifies the escalation of Hong Kong and Vietnam’s close relations to new heights.
