
Hong Kong to invests $6b for health technology, $3b for AI
Secretary Sun Dong ensured that the investments are financially feasible.
Innovation, Technology, and Industry Secretary Prof. Sun Dong revealed that the Hong Kong Government will invest $6b from their 2023 Budget in life and health technology and $3b in artificial intelligence.
In a press conference, Sun said that after the department had conducted an investigation, he ensured that the investments are financially feasible before they were proposed in the Budget.
He also said that the other proposed measures, including the establishment of a Microelectronics Research and Development Institute, are in line with the strategies proposed “either by the Chief Executive in his Policy Address or our I&T Development Blueprint.”
