Housing chief Anthony Cheung visits interim housing estates

According to a release, Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung today visited the Housing Authority's Interim Housing (IH) Estates in Long Bin in Yuen Long, Po Tin in Tuen Mun, and Shek Lei in Kwai Chung.

Prof Cheung was briefed on the estates’ management and occupancy situation, and how their management is the same as public rental housing.

"IH is a transient type of accommodation offered to those who become homeless because of natural disasters, fire, clearance operations, emergencies and so on."

He said the stand-by units provide a safety net for society.

All three estates provide about 4,600 flats with self-contained facilities.
